Objective
Remove ZnS2 and FeS2 Cu/Pb concentrate to produce a better liberation. According to lab test, flotaion separate efficiency can be increased with a fine grinding P80 of 15 microns.
The actual grinding media (25mm slugs) has a P80 limitation of 25 microns. Fine grinding equipement such as a vertimill was an option but capital investment should be avoided due to the mine closure in 2008. Therefore, the solution was to use smaller grinding media - the Millpebs - as the grinding charge.
Result
